The intent of this renovation was to bring the lobby into compliance with current accessibility guidelines. The existing glass façade and entry were kept with these exceptions: the large, heavy-hinged doors were replaced with automatic sliding doors, and site modifications were made to add a ramp to accommodate wheelchair access.
The color scheme was created using B. Braun brand colors with bright neutrals of silver and white to create a clean crisp environment in keeping with their German manufacturing and office facilities. The paint scheme was offset with warm wood tones on the custom reception desk and wood ceiling panels. The use of a unique vinyl mat flooring and large charcoal porcelain floor tile anchor the design for a contemporary feel.
The existing two-story lobby had excessive space which was underutilized. The space was converted to a six-person meeting room using a butt-glazed glass wall system, making it perfect for a quick private meeting with visitors.
The result is a sleek, modern reception lobby that reflects B. Braun’s corporate culture and welcomes employees and visitors from around the world.
