The majority of the original 25,000 sf of space was completely gutted to make way for the new renovations, which included both private offices and an open plan layout. The client requested some interesting design details and lighting solutions that worked in conjunction with a completely new furniture system. All interior finishes were selected and specified by DesignPoint and provided to the contractor, Serfass Construction, in documents that were easy to implement and bid with their subcontractors.
DesignPoint provided all the specifications and space planning for the furniture system as well, and provided the information to the client’s vendor for installation and pricing. A new staff cafeteria was designed for use by both the office and warehouse personnel. The building architect, Portner & Hetke, designed a completely new exterior façade which did wonders to enhance the daylight within the open office environments—in addition to updating the aesthetic of the building exterior to that of a premier distribution facility and corporate headquarters.
