Our designers form close relationships with clients and work hand-in-hand to create a shared vision, which we then see through until the job is complete. DesignPoint manages the project during construction and provides procurement and installation services to deliver a fully complete and cohesive project. in 1995 after a career as project engineer and designer for the consulting engineering firm of Stevens & Associates in Bethlehem, PA Les decided it was a time for a career change and started DesignPoint, Inc. During his years at Stevens & Associates, he provided interior architectural and design services for banking institutions, hotels, country clubs, restaurants and a number of corporate clients so DesignPoint was a natural transition.
Les is involved in all aspects of marketing the firm and overseeing the interior design process, from interior architecture to purchasing and tracking the ongoing status of our projects. Les is a professional member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). Les served on the original Design Council for Durkan Patterned Carpet, Inc. to create innovative and dynamic hospitality carpet designs. Les served on the Office Space Task Force for the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation and has served on the Board of Directors of The Literacy Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Les attended St. Petersburg College, Florida.
Under Les’ leadership, DesignPoint has gained a national reputation for senior living interiors and has received a Gold Seal Award from the NAHB National Council of Senior Living for its design work on the $15M renovation project in Philadelphia at The Fountains at Logan Square. DesignPoint has also had projects featured in several national publications such as Hospitality Design magazine and AWI’s magazine Design Solutions. Les leads the firm in providing its clients with well-appointed interiors combined with efficient purchasing and procurement services. In his spare time, Les can be found on the golf course or shooting clay pigeons when not spending time with his family.
As Vice President and Senior Designer, Kathy is responsible for many of the award-winning designs produced by DesignPoint. She works very closely with our clients and specializes in developing the initial concept for our major projects.
Kathy has a strong background in architectural space planning, detailing and design that carries through to create wonderful spaces for commercial, hospitality and senior living facilities throughout the United States.
Kathy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interior Design from the Univeristy of Maryland and an Associate Degree in Architecture from Northampton Community College. She has continued her education in lighting design thru the Illumination Engineering Society and senior living community design and trends thru sessions with LeadingAge and Environments for Aging.
Kathy loves taking care of her pet rabbits and spending time with her grandchildren and driving the back countryside with her husband in their corvette convertible.
Julie is one of our experienced senior designers and project managers that is an NCIDQ-Certified Interior Designer specializing in programming, space planning, and architectural detailing. She is adept at overseeing projects from initial concept through completion, and coordinates clients, contractors, and the design team through all phases of a project. With DesignPoint, Julie has managed corporate and senior living projects of varying scale, including a $10 million renovation of a CCRC in Bucks County. She strives to create innovative interiors within new or existing buildings and enjoys helping clients achieve their goals through design.
Julie studied Interior Architecture at Marywood University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts. Her thesis studies focused on the psychology of place and the use of biophilic design in healing environments. Outside of the office she enjoys spending time in nature – hiking, kayaking, camping, and skiing.
With a passion for Interior Design, Kayla earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Cazenovia College in Cazenovia, NY, graduating Cum Laude. She also pursued a Minor in Studio Art, further enhancing her creative skill set. Kayla is NCIDQ-Certified, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and a high level of proficiency in her career, meeting the standards set by the profession.
Kayla’s career spans a variety of project sectors, with a particular focus on senior living design. She brings a comprehensive understanding of the entire design process, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring that each project is both functional and aesthetically enriching.
Outside of the office, Kayla enjoys running and being outdoors. She loves spending time with her family and her rescued Greyhound, Roman.
After a time away raising a family, Beth has rejoined the firm and is one of our Senior Designers working on a variety of projects, including both hospitality and senior living. Prior to joining DesignPoint, Beth worked as an interior designer in an architectural firm in Washington, D.C. Her projects included both hospitality and high-end corporate office spaces.
Beth is NCIDQ certified and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art with a Business Concentration from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Interior Design from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. Beth is able to manage projects from the initial conceptual design phase through installation. Beth’s strengths are in interior architectural design and space planning. She strives to understand the client’s objectives and make their vision a reality.
Shannon holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude, and an Associate in Applied Science in Interior Design from Northampton Community College. During her academic journey, Shannon was honored with induction into the National Society for Leadership and Success, acknowledging her dedication to leadership and achievement.
Shannon began her career at DesignPoint as an intern and has since become an integral part of the team. She plays a crucial role in staying current with all FF&E updates and is a key point of contact for sales representatives, managing and maintaining the materials library. Passionate about her profession, Shannon plans to pursue her NCIDQ certification to further her expertise.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Shannon enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and being outdoors.
Natalie graduated from Bloomsburg University with a Bachelor of Social Work and Minor in Studio Art. After a few years, she made the decision to go back to school and transform her love for interior design into a career. Natalie graduated summa cum laude from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Interior and Sustainable Design. She came to us as an intern in her final months before graduating and has stayed with us since.
Natalie believes that her background in social work and understanding environmental impact helps her to design spaces that meet the goals and needs of clients from a foundational standpoint. She loves to render images and curate design boards that help bring design concepts to life for the clients. Natalie loves to travel and spend time at the beach with her friends and family, but most of the time she can be found at home baking sourdough and cuddling her 2 bulldogs, Archie and Pancake.
Kim has been with DesignPoint since 2000 and before joining the firm, she was a purchasing agent for Designers II in Atlanta, GA. Kim coordinates projects and works closely with clients, vendors, design staff, and project coordinators. She provides timely and cost-effective purchasing solutions for our clients. Kim provides the knowledge and skill needed to manage the office and the purchasing portion of our projects from beginning to end. She brings broad experience in all aspects of business, including having worked as a showroom manager for a high-end European fabric company.
Kim holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
When she has free time she likes to create art, experience live music and good food, and spend time with friends & family.
Amy was initially hired at DesignPoint as an intern to assist with administrations and purchasing. Since then, Amy has been hired as a full-time Purchasing Agent to assist with the growing needs of our firm. She is responsible for ordering the furniture, fabrics, and interiors selected by the designers, as well as handling the logistics. The designers can come to her for updates on their active projects and she is always happy to help. Amy thrives in environments with other focused and motivated people. She holds an Associate of Science Degree in Business Management from Northampton Community College where she was President of the Healthcare Office Club.
When she has free time, Amy likes to spend it with her friends and family. She also enjoys growing and maintaining her garden. When she gets an abundance of vegetables, she loves to pickle the extras and share!
Christina works closely with our accounting and procurement divisions assisting with all levels of the accounting and reconciliation process. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from East Stroudsburg University where she double majored in Secondary Education and History. Prior to joining DesignPoint she worked as a legal assistant for a maritime law firm in NYC.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family. She also loves history, music and playing guitar.
In addition to an excellent full-time staff of designers and professionals, DesignPoint always maintains a strong Internship Program recruiting from many of the design schools throughout the United States and continues to support young designers enrolled in our local community college.
